Music is my life
It brings me personal, emotional and intellectual growth
I am originally from the city of Iquique in northern Chile, where my love for music awakened. I studied to be a music teacher at the University of La Serena.
For some years, I was working as a music teacher in the city of Iquique. Later, I moved to Spain to study, first in the city of Salamanca where I was trained as a music therapist and a few years later, in Barcelona where I did my master's studies in Music Education and Musicology. Finally, I started my path as a researcher by doing my doctorate in Education at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Since 2018, I have lived in Berlin where I work as a music educator in different educational projects with children from 1 to 12 years old. Over the years, I have trained as a music therapist working with people with intellectual disabilities and their families; and I have integrated musical, vocal and instrumental teams in the countries where I have resided.
I am a member of the Chilean Center for Music Research and Teaching (CIEM) , I have conducted various research in music therapy and music education and I have written two books: Latinoamerica en el Aula (2015) and Latinoamerica en el Aula: Fiestas y Carnavales (2016).
